This is my first experience of publications with Global Journals. It proved to be successful. I am satisfied with contacts with the Editorial office and Technical departments. This is my first experience in blog activities as well – no time for this in my life. My paper title was: “Empty Spaces” in modern cultural landscapes structure: identification for the sake of socio-economic stability. It was devoted to revealing the origin of “empty spaces” appearance in the land-use structure in the Russian Arctic in order to demonstrate the importance of cultural landscapes studies to identify and characterize them for the sake of socio-economic stability. This research belongs to humanitarian geography and this time I failed to find an appropriate journal in my country to publish this paper. I can’t say that this paper demanded a lot of time to prepare. The matter is that I am the scientific leader of “Cultural Landscapes” seminar under the auspices of the Russian Geographical Society (“Cultural Geography” commission). I prepared a report on this subject which attracted attention of many scientists. So, I decided to publish it making several changes in examples to make the paper more understandable for foreign readers.
I am a professor of the Geographical Faculty, Lomonosov Moscow State University. My research fields are nature management and cultural landscapes studies. My favorite research territory is the Arctic zone, where I conducted field works for a long time.
